Glass has the great quality of being a a paradox. A hard material, denser than stone, yet transparant. Sharp and unforgivable during a building process, yet forgiving and and calming once completed.
Stained glass is a very old trade, and is becoming to an extinct because of new more economical ways of filling voids in structures where light is needed.
My work with glass has changed throughout the years from starting as a trade to be learned to the point now where i am starting to think of it as a language for artistic expression.
"lightposts" is a first step in the direction of exploring stained glas as an artistic medium.
Combing the technique of tiffany glass and glass fusing has produced a ceiling light fixture, roughly 1.7m by 80 cm. the lighting system is LED, with fluctuating colors.
These projects are additions to knowledge already present. They seek only combine different techniques.
